GIANNIS TSORTEKIS

Giannis Tsortekis was born and raised in Neo Psychiko, Athens. He is a graduate of the National Theatre and a graduate of the Department of Theatre Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Patras.

He is widely known for his participation in the television adaptation of the short story “To 10” by Miltiadis Karagatsis on Alpha TV during the 2007-2008 season. This was followed by some film appearances, in the film “The Little Fish” and more recently in the film “The Ballad of the Trypia Heart”. In 2021, he received the “Best Actor” award for his role in this film. In the 2021 season, he won the “Kart Postal” series on ERT1. In 2022 he returned to participate in three productions, “Dark Thalassa”, “Maestro” by Christoforos Papakaliatis on MEGA, which is now been broadcasted on Netflix with the official name Maestro in Blue and the series “This Night Remains” on Alpha.

In 2009 he was awarded the “Karolos Koun” prize for his performance in the play “Black Peace” by Dimitris Maronitis.
